The summer season brings us hotter temperatures and a variety of fresh produce. Many of the top summertime food trends revolve around satisfying appetites with lighter and cooler foods and drinks.

Here are 8 of the top summertime food trends to help you beat the heat this summer!

  • Paletas

Sort of like popsicles, Paletas are frozen traditional Mexican treats featuring chunks of fresh fruit and a variety of experimental flavors.

They’re unique and refreshing…and also perfect for beating the summer heat.

  • Watermelon juice

Since watermelon is approximately 90 per cent water, it’s one of the best ways (other than drinking water) to keep yourself hydrated.

Watermelon helps with digestion and keeps the stomach cool. It’s also sweet and full of antioxidants.

  • Cauliflower

Many are saying that cauliflower is this year’s kale – and it’s be even more popular.

  • Gourmet lemonades with added fruits (such as blueberries)
