One of the first things people decide when creating an event is where to host it. Outside or inside? Large space or small? How much do they charge and what services are included? While there are seemingly limitless possibilities in Portland for your corporate event, wedding, or social function, here is a list of 5 of the best event venues in town covering a range of styles and size to get you started.

The Old Church

If you’re looking for a space with a lot of character and history (it was completed in 1883), check out The Old Church. The beautiful landmark is no longer an actual church and is now used as a community facility. The space can accommodate concerts, lectures, workshops, weddings, and receptions. “Kinsman Hall” is a beautiful space for a reception, with a brass chandelier, wood floors, vaulted ceilings, stained-glass windows, and room for a standing buffet or 80 seated tables. If you want to evoke old-world glamour, this is your spot.

The Mark Spencer Hotel

If you want a classic hotel event with available guest accommodations, consider The Mark Spencer Hotel. The space combines Old World flair with modern convenience, while paying homage to the arts. Located where the West End meet The Pearl, it is a classic option for a business meeting, training, or social event.

Portland Art Museum

The Portland Art Museum is swanky, prestigious, and elegant. It can accommodate corporate events, weddings, and social gatherings, and has a myriad of ballrooms, galleries, and auditoriums to choose from. If you are looking to impress potential clients, this is the place to book.

Olympic Mills Commerce Center

Looking for something industrial on the East Side? The Olympic Mills Commerce Center is a creative/office/tech flex space that was remodeled in 2008. It offers two spaces: A 734 square foot space and a 1,929 square foot space. In true Portland style, it is dog-friendly, has free WiFi, and bicycle parking.

Director Park

Director Park is in the heart of downtown Portland and actively supports our art and culture scene. From small to mid-size events, the space is an outside European-style piazza completely customizable to your theme and accommodation needs. You should note that applications for renting the space are accepted a minimum of 12 months in advance. This could be the perfect place to host your quintessential Portland summer event.
