What Foods are in Season?
You’ve picked out what you would like to serve, wrote down what ingredients you need to purchase, and get yourself ready to go to the supermarket. As you are searching high and low for that one specific ingredient, you just can’t seem to find it. Does this sound familiar? If so, you aren’t alone!
As you may already know, foods have seasons. Chances are if you can’t seem to find it in the store, it isn’t in season! However, some items are still in the store even though they aren’t technically in season, but they may lack the same flavor as when they are in season.
When choosing menu items, take into consideration the time of the year and where you live. If you live in warmer climates, the food items that are in season will be different than if you live in colder climates.
